We always know that modern AAA video games require a lot of money to be made. But now we have a good idea of how expensive some of these games are. In a poorly edited document submitted by Sony Interactive Entertainment, we learn that the development cost of The Last of Us Part II is $220 million, while Horizon Forbidden West requires $212 million. In the document, PlayStation states that these costs can be justified because AAA games “create deep and ongoing engagement with players.”
