The idea behind Karmic Dice is to ensure that everything feels truly random, as each person consistently gets a different dice roll distribution. However, the community itself is divided on whether Karmic Dice should be revived or disabled by default. While some argue that true randomness is the spirit of D&D, others have shown that in tabletop games, Dungeon Masters sometimes manipulate dice rolls behind the scenes to prevent players from getting upset with bad luck occurrences. They are not wrong! However, it is slightly different when a human decides when it is important to slightly deceive about dice rolls compared to video games that only look at numbers and do not pay attention to the situation at the gaming table.
However, I am glad to learn about this feature, which I would have missed. After playing for about ten hours with the active Karmic Dice, maybe the next ten hours with the Karmic Dice turned off will help me decide which one actually feels better.
