Sega has released a trailer for the Sonic & Friends series on TikTok. The company posted the trailer on its Japanese TikTok page on Monday, August 7th. Sonic & Friends gives us a glimpse of Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Knuckles in CGI chibi form, having fun while thwarting Dr. Eggman’s plans, whatever they may be.
The title Sonic & Friends suggests that every character in the Sonic the Hedgehog game series may appear alongside Sonic’s small friends, including Shadow, Rouge, Cream, and possibly the Babylon Rogues. However, it is not yet known if these characters will be part of this short animation.
A trailer for Sonic & Friends on TikTok has been released after Sega filed a trademark in Japan with the same name. Fans have speculated that Sonic & Friends may be related to a new game, but the trademark was filed under several classifications, including Machinery and Devices, Toys, Paper, Clothing, and Education and Recreation. These categories imply that Sega may be exploring merchandising opportunities with the Sonic & Friends brand targeted towards young children.
